Bizerba Software RetailControl – the innovative central branch management for trade
Bizerba sets milestones: Software RetailControl enables communication between peripheral devices and control centre in real time. Weighers automatically confirm whether all advertising or price information has arrived and been integratedBalingen, 6th April 2010 – The time when traders had to check each weigher or till extensively to see if advertising content or prices had been changed accurately are now over.
“Our software RetailControl controls the software network between weighers, tills, price labellers and peripheral devices such as flat screens as digital placards at the POS. In this way we facilitate work processes, branch management, reporting and controlling. No matter whether the company has one or more branches. Like with a package with return receipt, the control centre receives the answer via the activated device. It signals that all information, like price and advertising content has been updated or that there is a problem”, explains Matthias Harsch, spokesman of the management at Bizerba.
Like all other software components from the Bizerba RetailFramework family, RetailControl is also conceived and developed according to open standards. “Although the software optimally communicates with Bizerba end devices, it can also be used in branches which do not or only partially work with Bizerba end devices. Under the aspect of investment protection it can be integrated into existing infrastuctures without the functionality and cost savings of modern technology and the added value of visual marketing” says Harsch.
Time and cost saving branch management
The advantages of RetailControl are obvious to Harsch: “First of all it is the central control. I no longer have to maintain individual ranges of several devices with enormous loss of time, rather I can activate and configure it via the internet from anywhere in the world. This is particularly worthwhile for large commercial establishments with frequently changing ranges.” And: “The user already knows before the shop has opened whether the data has actually arrived, and is shown and taken into account.” If errors occur, the Bizerba service team is notified directly by the weigher, without the sales personnel actively having to do anything. In this way not only break down times are decreased but also the errors that occur due to using the wrong price. “Using the Bizerba-e-service we therefore also have the possibility of analysing problems by remote diagnosis and remote maintenance and for the most part also solving them directly, saving costs and time”, says Harsch.
Make a connection
With RetailControl the whole company network can be built up, controlled and monitored. It offers control via displays in the sales areas, on the weighers, on the shopping trolley or in the till area. In this way for example the duration and frequency of overlaid advertising messages can be compiled and communicated on the screen of the weigher. This data can be compared with the sales figures at the same time and so sales promoting events can be applied in a target oriented way. Due to the modular construction and the open standards of the Bizerba software the user can put together their own individual package. “If a customer uses SAP in their merchandise management for example, they can use the Bizerba software modules RetailConnect as interface management and RetailControl to bring the data up on the weigher. If they decide to advertise products in a targeted way using the weigher, then they can also buy RetailImpact. They can obtain pictures, content or configured weigher screen layouts directly from the internet – from the Bizerba online shop RetailMall”, says Harsch.
Use the network
RetailControl gets appropriate support from the visual marketing assistant RetailImpact. This software enables you to service and maintain pictures, texts or videos. Additionally duration statistics can be compiled and evaluated for advertising.
The user can find advertising content for weighers and external screens, nutritional value details for more than 16,000 products in six different languages, recipes, photos, master data and pre-defined content layouts in the Bizerba online shop RetailMall. The range is continually being extended.
