One for 50: WEDA’s XtraFeeder

WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp GmbH, situated at Lutten, have enlarged their product portfolio in the domain of dry feeding and are from now on offering their XtraFeeder. The full-line providers for modern pig managements are setting the benchmark here with regard to efficiency and cost-benefit ratio. With the aid of this novelty, up to 50 animals can be simultaneously provided with high-energy nutrients at their feeding places.
Development, production, assembly, and the service for the automat are all from WEDA. Here, the global market leader from Lower Saxony places emphasis on the established mixture of proven technology and robust construction manner.
All in all, the pulp feeding automat has eight feeding places at its disposal so that in two pens four animals each can take up their feed at the same time – free from stress and undisturbed. The dimensions of the XtraFeeder with a total volume of 101 litres, filled with dry feed, enables the pig unit operator to feed out 50 animals in two pens by the aid of the automat. The decisive advantage: from a larger number of animals onwards the use of the XtraFeeder saves the costs for the purchase of further automats.
In a constructive way, the WEDA innovation meets with the requirements of modern animal managements. The approved shape and the special construction of the mechanical assembly groups inside reliably prevent the formation of feed bridges inside the container. This way, hygiene is safeguarded and practically no feed is lost.
The XtraFeeder is of a robust construction manner. The high-quality frame construction, the round feeding bowls and the dosification collar are made of high-grade steel. The automat is available for trough versions S (for piglets), as also for XL (for fattening animals). Trough version S measures 1,250/760/600 mm (height / width / diameter), the dimensions of size XL are 1,250/883/724 mm (H/W/D).
