Press release from: Excelsis Business Technology AG

The service portal for MercedesCard, the Mercedes-Benz customer service programme, is implemented using Excelsis Software in fast time to market.

Stuttgart, 19.10.2006. DaimlerCrysler AG issued a mandate to the Stuttgart-based Excelsis Business Technology AG to implement a service portal for MercedesCard holders. The portal is intended to augment existing interactive information services. Especially business processes such as completing customer surveys that replace annual membership fees, redeeming Mercedes-Benz RoadMiles bonuses and ordering selected products from the MercedesCard-Journal are greatly improved through secure and comfortable self-service access for card holders. Rollout is planned seamlessly with all other existing Mercedes-Benz online services.

The portal is developed based on cutting-edge technology, such as Excelsis’ high-efficiency Java frameworks. Using these frameworks, applications for both spoken dialog [based on speech recognition] and web-based portals can be developed in very short time to market, meeting highest security and availability requirements. "The Excelsis proposal to our tender has convinced us both economically and technically," according to Cornelia Bentel, MercedesCard product manager at DaimlerChrysler. "The MC Online project is an important milestone for us and DaimlerChrysler represents yet another key customer deploying our superior technology," according to Frank Härdter, Director at Excelsis.
