Successful launch of DIAMOS-AI version S+ at Schwarzwald-Baar savings bank
From now on DIAMOS-AI S+ supports the processes for the management of alternative investments at savings bank Schwarzwald-BaarAmong its investment holdings (Depot A), the savings bank Schwarzwald-Baar holds shares in alternative investment funds (AIF), which focus on investments in real estate, infrastructure and other assets. One of the greatest challenges for Schwarzwald-Baar in this field was to obtain a quick overview of the developments and the current status of investments. This was due, in particular, to the heterogeneity of the data supplied by asset managers. The aggregation and processing of this data, e.g. for regulatory reporting, risk controlling or reporting of the Executive Board, could only be achieved through manual processes that were time-consuming and prone to errors. Insufficient traceability of data changes was another disadvantage.
The savings bank Schwarzwald-Baar decided to elevate the quality of their processes in their strategically important field of alternative investments to a higher level by using DIAMOS-AI S+. Data can now be saved in a traceable and historicised manner, which facilitates much simpler plausibility checks of data and thus creates a company-wide uniform data base for all subsequent processes.
An essential component of DIAMOS-AI S+ is the consolidated data collection - from fund participation to the overview of the underlying targets. The data supply by the asset manager occurs via automated interfaces. In this way, DIAMOS together with the savings bank Schwarzwald-Baar established a process in the communication with external partners (incl. Golding Capital Partners). Over and above this, the BVI-standard for the exchange of real estate data is also supported. Inter alia, data for capital calls and distributions, forecasts, as well as from regulatory reporting can be transferred via these interfaces. As a central information and management platform for alternative investments, DIAMOS-AI S+ is thus made available to all relevant actors within the savings bank Schwarzwald-Baar.
In addition to the fully automated processing of data and documents, it is an important function to pass on the consolidated information to the relevant parties in an edited and processed form. The reporting system at overall bank level is supported in such a manner that amongst others, capital requirements, deductible equity items and open foreign currency positions at fund level are made available in a structured form.
As part of the ongoing review of the risk-bearing capacity of the institution, DIAMOS-AI S+ supports various risk categories in the context of alternative investments through an integrated risk assessment. A transparent presentation of shareholding structures (e.g. fund-of-funds, target funds and investment companies) allows risks to be detected and evaluated as part of the overview at asset level. Together with the delivered forecast data, it is possible to determine an effective risk-bearing capacity assessment beyond the usual 12-month period.
Andreas Palka, Head of Controlling and Overall Bank Management at Schwarzwald-Baar savings bank, underscores the decision in support of DIAMOS-AI S+ by saying that "with DIAMOS-AI S+ we acquired a system that not only allows us to be comprehensively audit-proof, accountable and controllable at all times, but also equips us to deal with regulatory developments, such as the realignment of supervisory assessments of risk-bearing capacity concepts, or the expansion of our investment holdings in AIFs with other asset classes."
"With DIAMOS-AI S+ we are specifically offering savings banks a pre-configured individual solution for the cost-effective and sustainable management of their investments in alternative asset classes that are operated from our certified data processing centre in Germany. For our customers, costs and efforts are thereby drastically reduced and the quality of the data markedly improved", highlights Alexander Bender, Managing Director Sales and Support at DIAMOS AG. He adds that " naturally, our product family DIAMOS-AI for investors is also aimed at other Depot-A managers, such as credit unions, private banks or pension funds who are looking for an attractive, high-performance software solution."
