BROOKINGS, S.D. – Jan. 13, 2010 – Over the past few months, a new light emitting diode (LED) display of more than 3,300 linear meters (10,800+ feet) of PXS-62 LED freeform lighting elements, designed and manufactured by Daktronics Inc. of Brookings, S.D. (NASDAQ-DAKT), was installed on the outside of the Hangzhou Tower Shopping Center.

The LED lighting elements, attached to the façade of the two buildings, highlight local events and present amazing graphics with bright, exciting colors to catch everyone’s attention.

The state-of-the-art system features the latest Daktronics LED video technology with the ability to present live and recorded video images. Daktronics LED technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement.

Prior to Hangzhou Tower’s order, a Daktronics PXS LED video display, measuring approximately eight meters tall by 30 meters wide (26 feet high by 98 feet wide), was installed on the side of the Hangzhou Tower Shopping Center as part of a demo shootout that involved three competing companies. With only one week to prepare for this demo, Daktronics was able to pull through and impress the customers with the PXS product and its ability to adapt to any location.
