The ICT SUMMIT 2006, the opening event of the InfoCom week, was held from September 25-26, 2006 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Information and Communication Week – “InfoCom-2006” is being held during the week of September 25 - 29, 2006 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The ICT Summit 2006 was organized by Coordination Council for development of computerisation and information and communication technologies, The Committee on Press and IT issues of Oliy Majlis Legislative Chamber, the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI), ICT Policy Project of UNDP and Association of IT Companies and Organizations of Uzbekistan.

Through its all-embracing program, the ICT Summit 2006 aimed to provide an outstanding opportunity for representatives of government, academic and business communities to reflect on achievements and to address new trends and challenges in exploring potential of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) as a catalyst of development in various areas.

The ICT Summit 2006 had plenary sessions and group sections, where plenary session hosted policy dialogue and topics relevant to a broad audience and group sections was a platform for more sector-oriented and specific discussions.
