Silicon Valley-based Canadian Landing Pad launches Tech Talk series

July 9, 2018, San Francisco: Connection Silicon Valley, an organization that helps companies collaborate, innovate, and partner with Silicon Valley's world-renowned technology ecosystem and founder of the Canadian Landing Pad, is pleased to announce the launch of its Tech Talk series, which aims to provide regular opportunities for Canadian startups in Silicon Valley to connect with founders and hear their stories. The first Canadian Landing Pad Tech Talk features Rahim Fazal, tech entrepreneur and co-founder/CEO of SVAcademy, and is being held on August 1 at The Vault, San Francisco.

Launched in May 2018, the Canadian Landing Pad provides a central location for Canadian startups to base themselves when visiting Silicon Valley. Located at The Vault SF, the Canadian Landing Pad provides Canadian startups access to co-working and meeting spaces, office hours, networking opportunities and startup community events. Founding partners of the Canadian Landing Pad include Startup Edmonton, Edmonton Research Park, Edmonton Economic Development, TWG and TEC Edmonton.

Joanne Fedeyko, CEO of Connection Silicon Valley and founder of the Canadian Landing Pad, commented:

In the Tech Talk ‘The Future of Work’, Mr Fazal will discuss the impacts of the future of work including the rise of AI and automation, and will discuss how to remove structural biases, increase access to opportunities, and how to build a future that works. Originally from Vancouver, Rahim Fazal is a founder of several B2B software companies, including Involver, an enterprise social media platform, which was acquired by Oracle. Today, Mr Fazal is the CEO of SVAcademy, a future of work platform, which is funded by Bloomberg, and provides pre-trained entry-level sales talent to Silicon Valley's fastest growing SaaS companies.
