About "waste to energy"

The international exhibition and conference "waste to energy" is the worldwide only event dedicated to energy recovery from different waste streams and biomass. Plant manufacturers, technology suppliers, service providers and reseach facilities present the latest on waste as a resource in Bremen.

Industries like cement production have been using secondary fuels from waste in their power plants for years to save on energy costs. With prices for conventional fuels rising, this option is becoming increasingly attractive for other sectors. Biomass in the form of sludges, food waste, forestry waste or energy crops also gains importance. It can be utilized to generate power and heat in biomass plants, or to produce biogas or vehicle fuels. "waste to energy" provides the forum for this growth market.
