Press release from: Positek Limited

UNITED KINGDOM, 2018 – As Positek confirms, linear, tilt, and rotary position sensors come in various styles and technologies, as every application has different requirements when it comes to attributes, and certain technologies are more suited to certain circumstances and environments compared to others.

Positek certainly knows what it is talking about, as it has been in operation for more than 25 years, producing superior quality and highly advanced transducers and sensors for its many clients across the United Kingdom and around the world. But today, Positek further enhances its level of support to its customers by providing more detailed, precise information on the functions and uses of LVDTs, expressly created for the benefit of customers.

Positek provides clients with ready answers regarding some of their most important questions about LVDTs. According to the company, there are different kinds of position sensors, and one of these is the LVDT position sensor.

Positek states, “LVDTs, also known as linear variable differential transformers, are electric transformers which convert rectilinear or linear movement into an electrical signal. At a basic level, linear variable displacement transformers are composed of a movable core housed inside a stainless steel, or similarly robust, assembly, surrounded by coils which measure its position. The LVDT is connected to a known fixed point at one end and the object to be measured at the other. As the measured object moves, the core within the LVDT is shifted, allowing it to send an electric signal (based on a voltage change) based on the position of the object.”

As if this information weren’t enough, Positek also provides highly useful information on the sensor output or operation of LVDTs and why they are truly beneficial. Positek confirms, for example, that one of the main advantages of the inductive sensor/LVDT is that if power is turned off, once it is restarted again, the unit will provide the same measurement, which means that there is no information on position which is lost. In addition, if the LVDT is accurately and correctly configured, it can offer the same information level time and time again.

About the company: Positek Limited, in Cheltenham, has been one of the most trusted names in regards to transducer and sensor technology for a long time. The company offers linear position sensors, underwater sensors, tilt angle sensors, rotary position sensors, and customised sensors. Positek Limited has helped numerous industries when it comes to the production of superior quality, high performance sensors and transducers, and its selection is second to none. But the company goes a step further for its clients by providing additional precise information about the functions and uses of LVDTs.

LVDT Sensors Market Trends, Growth, and Future Outlook
In an era where precision, durability, and reliability define industrial and automotive success, LVDT sensors have emerged as a critical component in ensuring exact linear measurements across environments-from factory floors to aerospace control systems. Their contactless, frictionless design and long operational life make them ideal for demanding environments. With increased adoption in automation, robotics, aerospace control systems, and energy sectors, the LVDT sensors market is poised for a strong decade of
Global Linear Variable Displacement Transducers (LVDT) Market 2025-2032
Linear Variable Displacement Transducers (LVDT) Market Overview Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT) are non-contact, absolute position sensors. They include a transformer housed into a metal case and a ferromagnetic core which can be attached to an extension rod. The core slides inside the spool tube (also called boreliner) of the transformer. The transformer contains the coil assembly with primary and secondary windings and, in the case of DC LVDTs, the signal
Latest Trends In Global LVDT Displacement Sensors Market
A Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) displacement sensor is a highly precise and reliable device used for measuring linear displacement or position changes. It operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction and consists of a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a movable core. When an alternating current is applied to the primary coil, it generates a magnetic field, which induces voltages in the secondary coils.
