Soft transitions, firm damping: CENTAFLEX-RSD coupling for Z-drives
As a reaction to an increased demand by engine manufacturers for compact and economic couplings for leisure time activities, CENTA has expanded its CENTAFLEX-R series by another highly flexible design. The CENTAFLEX-RSD roller coupling with a progressive characteristic is designed specifically for diesel-driven Z-drives and shows only minor stiffness under small loads. Torsional vibrations are then shifted to ranges below idle speed. The stiffness of the coupling gently adapts as the load increases. Hence, rattling noises and coupling shocks are effectively suppressed and comfort aboard is significantly increased.
Besides low weight and high flexibility, users of the new CENTAFLEX-RSD will enjoy cost benefits compared to standard solutions, making the coupling a true alternative for diesel-driven Z-drives. The METS in Amsterdam is the venue for the first presentation of the design. You can meet CENTA in the German Pavilion in Hall 4.
The innovative CENTA couplings and drive systems have ongoing adaptations to meet the most recent technical demands and requirements. A wide range of innovations has made the company, with its near 40 years of history, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flexible couplings and drive shafts for industry, marine, and power generation applications. Robust coupling for hybrid drives
With CENTAFLEX-R, CENTA will be presenting an exceptionally robust coupling for hydrostatic and hybrid drives at this year’s bauma. The coupling was developed for extreme heavy-duty applications where the load is increased with growing performance. The construction machinery industry is now showing a significant trend toward drive solutions that reduce consumption, emission and noise. CENTA accommodates this trend with its robust CENTAFLEX-R for torque ranges of 0,25 to 15 kNm. The
Alternative coupling ensures fail-safe operation of compressor systems
CENTA’s highly flexible coupling system, CENTAX-SEC, offers a torsionally soft alternative to standard all-metal couplings used in gas and oil industry businesses. These highly flexible couplings shift harmful resonances to subcritical ranges, thus ensuring fail-safe operation of the compressor system. Type-approved by renowned classification societies, the couplings are designed in consultation with the customer to meet API standards. Companies in the oil and gas industries are looking for large compressor units
CENTA’s Quality Management System on the Right Track
The first company authorized by Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to perform in-house acceptance testing on its own couplings CENTA is the first company worldwide to which Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has conferred the responsibility for alternative product certification of type-approved couplings. In the future, CENTA will have the authority to carry out acceptance testing and final stamping of those couplings, which have previously been classified as approved types. These tests have to be

German Maritime Security 2018, German Government Statement!
Despite all international and national efforts, piracy remains a serious peril for the international shipping industry. Especially in Asia (i.e. Chittagong/Bangladesh or on the Strait of Malacca), but also in South America (e.g. Bay of Santos/Brazil or in the port of Callao/Peru) robbery or piracy there has recurred in the recent past. At the West African coast the number of incidents had raised even by 50% with 66 incidents this

German Local Trade Tax
All the companies in Germany are liable to pay not only corporate income tax, whose rate is nowadays about 15% of the annual profit of the company, but also trade tax (Gewerbesteuer), which is a tax of German characteristics. Why would we say that trade tax is of German characteristics? Because it is different from the corporate income tax, which is charged by the German Federal Government and it is difficult
