Fox News's Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick grill Afshin Rattansi

26 July 2006 (London, New York) Fox News Channel broadcast an interview with award-winning former Al Jazeera journalist, Afshin Rattansi, who worked for the flagship strand that first identified the 9/11 plot.

Looking at the crisis in the Middle East, Rattansi cast doubts on the usefulness of Secretary Rice meeting with Mamoud Abbas, saying that Hamas was the only legitimate democratically-elected force in Palestine.

He also said that whichever side one was on, Israel or the Arab World's, this crisis and the actions of the Bush administration are aiding states such as Syria and Iran. He also said that the crisis and the hundreds of dead children in Lebanon would act as recruiting sergeants for Al Qaida.

Rattansi's novel, The Dream of the Decade, is published this year and treats - in fiction - the themes of terrorism and media power.

More information is available at his website which can be found by googling his name.

The Dream of the Decade is published in the U.S. by Amazon.com.
