EMG Wins Second Place in Contest Sponsored by Omniture

IRVINE, CA – Earthbound Media Group (EMG) is proud to announce its recent win in the Omniture $25K Developer Connection Partner Challenge. Held back in March of this year, the Omniture-sponsored contest was created to encourage its strategic partners to develop new applications built to work with Omniture’s Application Programming Interfaces (API). EMG tied for second place with the development of the innovative and robust application “Blog Marketing & Brand Tracking”.

Developed by two of EMG’s strategic masterminds, Director of Online Marketing Brandon Reiser and Lead Web Developer Eli Burpee, the “Blog Monitoring and Brand Tracking” application uses APIs from blogging search engine Technorati and microblogging social networking site Twitter in order to query millions of tagged user generated content pages. In using these APIs, the EMG-built application proved to give marketing analysts the ability to easily track and measure brand mentions or related keywords across the blogosphere and microblogosphere while defining the number of links generated to a website.

“Utilizing this plug-in via Omniture’s SiteCatalyst is a great opportunity for clients to manage their online marketing metrics under a single centralized dashboard,” explained EMG’s Director of Online Marketing Brandon Reiser. “The combination of social and brand monitoring metrics alongside traditional web analytics is a powerful and fresh way for marketers to measure performance accurately and efficiently.”

Evaluated by Omniture’s platform product leadership team, the winners of the $25K Partner Developer Challenge were selected based on three core criteria: commercial value, creativity and consumability (i.e. How well-documented and well-understood is the application?). The first place winner, Technology Leaders, and the second place runner-ups, EMG and Bell Canada, received a prize of $15,000 and $10,000 respectively. Additionally, the three winners will have the opportunity to promote their winning applications to Omniture customers.
