Representatives of Countries not yet registered for the Conference are showing
great interest in co-operating with the new SME World Union of Small and Medium Enterprises. Up to date 25 major SMEs supporting organisations representing 18 Countries, among them India, USA, Nigeria, Malaysia, Israel, Austria, Turkey, Greece, Poland, Sri Lanka have registered for the founding conference to be held from 24th to 25th February 2010 in the Republic of San Marino, hosted by the RSM Government. The Chairman of the Conference, Gianfranco Terenzi and General Secretary Norbert W. Knoll-Dornhoff expect in February 2010 more than 50 Countries and representatives of UN Organisations, e.g.UNIDO, OECD, UNESCO that will participate by sending their Delegates and contribute with recommendations on SME policy in times
of economic crises.

WUSME will not propose new Declarations and theoretic studies, that are incapable of solving the actual problems of SMEs, said Knoll-Dornhoff, but start an Action Programme that will help SMEs to overcome financial crises in the future and enhance their sustainable development, especially in less developed Countries. Main emphases will be:

Better access to financing for SMEs at banks, e.g. European Investment Bank, micro financing for SMEs, stock markets, support of EU.

World Union EXCHANGE: Internet platform for Members who are looking for business partners, investors, new technologies, sub-contractors etc.
Price advantages for WUSME Members and their Members at “Value Chains”, e.g. Airlines, Hotels, Supermarkets, Car Companies etc.

WUSME MICRO CREDITBANK. The Bank shall be founded in the longer run in co-operation with Grameen Bank and Nobel award winner Mohammad Yunnus. With Grameen as partner bank it would be possible that the SMEs UNION could successfully undertake an IPO (Initial Public Offering) at the stock markets world wide.

GREEN INDUSTRY: Access of SMEs to new technologies in the fields of energy production from renewable sources (sun, water, wind, waste) are already will be fast growing and highly profitable markets in the 21st Century. Once the stock markets are back to normal, the WUSME shall undertake an IPO together with WUSME Member Banks and producers of green industries plants, e.g. Recycling Plants ”Waste to Gas, Biofuel and Electricity”, small hydro power plants, wind parks, solar energy cells etc.

SME WORLD UNION PRIVATE UNIVERSITY: Sons and daughters of private entrepreneurs, primarily from developing Countries and those in transition, shall have the possibility to reach the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or related qualifications. The SMEs Union’s University shall be integrated into an existing Private University in Europe and/or USA and Asia. It shall have Campuses in various other Countries, including developing Countries and those in transition.
