HoloMind Release 1.0 - Web based Application for Workshops and Idea Management

Symbolian (www.symbolian.net) announces the first release of HoloMind (www.holomind.net), a web based application for idea management and workshops. HoloMind is uniquely built around a knowledge tree in 3 dimensions, which allows users to enter, combine, recombine and explore ideas in a way never seen before. HoloMind targets business idea management and workshops as well as the education sector. All interested parties are encouraged to try out HoloMind free of charge without limitations

HoloMind is a web based application to organize and manage ideas and workshop content, as well as a structured collection and presentation of relationships. HoloMind is built around a 3-dimensional knowledge tree where content can be collected, sorted and voted on, in an intuitive way.

HoloMind is especially useful for working on complex data structures and real-time collaboration. Participants are not confined to one place within the workshop. They are free to explore the workshop individually, while content animations help visualize the flow of a presentation to everyone participating. Additionally, all workshop content and results will be stored, making it easy to retrace the flow of brainstorming sessions, participant voting results and impromptu additions and ideas to the progress of a workshop.

HoloMind’s 3 dimensional knowledge tree is built upon Symbolian’s patented and award winning ConeCanvas technology. Symbolian was awarded "Pioneers of the Future" by the international Publicis Group for this technology out of an international pool of 3.500 startups.

The Problem: Lack of control users face in the ever increasing presence of digitization
Computers have become mysterious “black boxes”. Applications are now mostly cloud based, meaning they can change their appearance or functionality overnight. Also as computing gets smarter, more and more information becomes processable by the computer. This includes user data. The user is not aware of what data is stored, where it is stored and if their data is passed on or sold to third parties.
Instead of feeling used by technology, we want users to feel empowered by technology, and we want to be a part of the solution that bridges the gap between computer and human knowledge representation.

The Antidote: ConeCanvas
The solution to this problem is to reduce the gap between information targeted for humans and information targeted for machines.
With this in mind, we developed a brand new 3D user interface called ConeCanvas. Inspired by the metaphor of a tree that represents the structure, hierarchies and relations of knowledge, ConeCanvas is a unique and patented technology for 3D visualization and editing.

For example, HoloMind can be used to structure the layout of a website, to structure employees in an organization, or to structure the ontology for archiving musical scores.

The Future: HoloBrain
ConeCanvas is just the tip of the iceberg. With HoloBrain we will add transparent artificial intelligence to HoloMind. The user can construct descriptions of knowledge domains that are comprehensible for machines. Additionally, HoloBrain can check these domains for correctness, compare them to other approaches and even let them run as a computer program. This will be fused seamlessly with the representation for humans, allowing experts in their knowledge domain and computer experts to work together productively.
