Jennifer Rai of Today’s Administrative Solutions and Tracy Collins of Collins’ Administrative Services have joined forces to help a South Dakota small business.Bob Prentice of Professional Development Systems in Wessington, SD was having a hard time keeping up with the day-to-day and ever-increasing administrative tasks that come with running a successful business. Maintaining his database, e-newsletter, customer service and sales phone calls left him little time to grow his business. He knew he needed help but did not want the added hassle of hiring a full time employee. His solution came in the form of a virtual assistant he met on the business-networking site called Ryze.com. “I was unsure what a Virtual Assistant was but I have since embraced the idea and in doing so have realized that I can get the administrative expertise I need without the high price and hassle,” Prentice said.
Following the initial success of his partnership with Ms. Collins, Jennifer Rai joined the team to offer more specialized customer service support. “I am extremely thrilled to have Jennifer Rai join our team,” explains Ms. Collins. “It is exciting to have such a bright and motivated team player.” Ms. Rai goes on to say, “By combining our areas of expertise, we are able to offer total administrative support to Bob and his company objectives.”
Although Virtual Assistance is a relatively new industry, it is gaining popularity among many small business owners looking for administrative support. According to the George Washington University Forecast of Emerging Technology (July 2000), in the year 2008 Virtual Assistants will be breaking through as a $117b dollar industry.
Ms. Collins and Ms. Rai are both active members of the VA Network Forum an online meeting place for Virtual Assistants.
