Tau Kappa Epsilon creates hurricane relief fund

INDIANANPOLIS, IN – Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity has established a Hurricane Relief Fund to assist the TKE chapters affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The Fraternity staff, along with local volunteers, is working diligently to ensure the well-being of its members and chapters directly affected by this disaster. TKE has seven chapters in the state of Louisiana along with thousands of alumni.

TKE’s Chapter at Georgia Southern University, in cooperation with the International Headquarters, is coordinating the fund drive. To learn more about the Hurricane Relief Fund, or to make a donation, please visit http://www.lambda-upsilon.org/hurricane.htm.

“Tekes everywhere have always been leaders and have given of themselves to better society. This catastrophe is no different, with hundreds of our fellow fraters in desperate need of help due to the affects of Hurricane Katrina. Just last month, a thousand of our members gathered in New Orleans to celebrate our brothehood – now is the time for us all to give back and act in a way which best illustrates our key founding principles – charity, esteem, and love,” said CEO Kevin Mayeux.

“The Grand Prytanis, Grand Council, and I urge our members to do what they can to help with the relief efforts. The American Red Cross and other reputable aid agencies are in need of money and supplies to help those most impacted by the storm. There is also a link on the TKE website where people can donate directly to help TKE chapters most affected. I urge ever Teke to do his part in this critical time of need for our fraters and countless others in the Gulf Coast region.”
