Signals Significant Brand Evolution & Sustainable Future Growth
New Delhi: SONA BLW Group India has unveiled its new logo to recalibrate the larger perception of its consistent technology-based growth and future objectives. This announcement coincides with SONA BLW’s participation in the forthcoming Auto Component Expo 2018, starting on the 8th of February at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Mr. Sunjay Kapur, CEO of the US$ 500 million SONA Group & Managing Director, SONA BLW Precision Forging said, “SONA stands for an inspired passion for quality manufacturing and breakthrough thinking, that enables us to transform natural resources into innovative automation. The letters ‘S’ and ‘O’ form the globe, the ‘N’ and ‘A’ form the core of the planet. The abstract components that form the core of their business are represented by 5 teeth, one for each continent. With geometric precision, the layers within, bring texture and vibrancy of the work culture. The infinite, connected symbol represents positivity of intent, innovation and the continuous endeavour to grow.SONA stands for that raw purity of core manufacturing, turning nature into a manmade wonder. The company consciously chose to bring forth their prudence in the identity by using a singular binary black and white combination. Overall, the SONA logo creates an aspirational form symbolising the richness of the company’s past, the reality of their present, and inspiration for the future.
SONA BLW is an ISO TS 16941 certified and ISO 14000:1996 certified company and Energy Management System ISO 50001 Certified. SONA BLW exports auto components to leading global automotive players such as Corvette, Chrysler, Linamar, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Tata and Volkswagen in passenger vehicles. In the commercial vehicles segment, their clients include, AAM, Ashok Leyland, AMW, Daimler, Eicher, Force Motors, Meritor, TATA and Volvo. Clients in the agriculture &off-highway vehicles segment include, Carraro, Escorts, John Deere and TAFE to name a few. SONA products are manufactured with technology that is advanced even by world standards and include warm-forged bevel gears, differential case assemblies, driveline components, mechanical front wheel drive, E-Axle and synchroniser rings for automotive and other applications.
Mr. Sunjay Kapur, further elaborated on the reasoning behind the company’s brand-new logo. “Today marks 10 years of being a global company for us. 10 years ago, we bought the ThyssenKrupp gear division. Our Founder, Late Dr. Surinder Kapur’s vision was to create a company that India is proud of. Our foray into building the electric axle, the differential for the current as well as electric vehicle manufacturers, enabled us to capture 11% of the global market for differential bevel gears. We can proudly say that we have achieved our vision of creating a company that makes India proud. SONA BLW will put on display their large product line at the upcoming Expo. To meet the expectations that auto enthusiasts have of their technology and product portfolio, SONA BLW will also exclusively showcase its E-axle and the concept prototype for co-axial e-axle with an integrated motor.
The Union Budget 2018 has encouraged Indian manufacturers in the sector with indirect taxes on imports including custom duty of 15% on certain parts of vehicles, custom duty on completely built up vehicle kits at 25% and custom duty on completely knocked-down vehicle kits at 15%.
