Next level of booth design – Voblo’s performance for Playlogic at gamescom 2009
Video and computer games have steadily gained popularity. As a result, a growing number of trade fairs and exhibitions are dedicated to the digital entertainment industry. Companies who want to stand out have to fascinate a challenging target group. In the ideal case this starts with a specific booth design. By the realization of two spaces for the company Playlogic at Europe’s biggest fair for interactive entertainment electronics in Cologne, Voblo additionally shows that B2B clients does not have to be missed out.The video and computer game industry seems not to recognize the omnipresent crisis. A perfect example is the newly launched gamescom, which firstly opens up its gates on August 19 in Cologne. One of the exhibitors is the Dutch company Playlogic International N.V. For the presentation of their new block buster titles Fairytale Fights, Obscure and Infernal the game producer counts on the Exhibitgroup Giltspur and their 100% subsidiary Voblo.
During conception and implementation, the experience as well as the know-how of the Voblo Design Department and of Creative Director Rudolf Haverkamp were required for the construction. An authentic copy of the Candy Castle, which is built on a two-tier area of 60 m2, captures all the features of the original Fairytale Fights game level. In line with the industry standard, state-of-the-art electronics is used within the booth. That way customers find full-fledged game stations, whose design is also reminiscent of objects from the virtual world. In addition to game fans also professional visitors are taken care of in a special way. For that purpose, a separate area of 40m² will be established in the Playlogic-corporate design at the gamescom. Business clients and representatives of the press can learn more about the latest virtual devolopments in two separate presentation rooms with elaborate audio and video installations.
