On May 12, 2006 the Judges for this year’s World Billing Awards announced their decision on the companies to be shortlisted as finalists for each of the World Billing Awards 2006. The winners will be announced at the Billing and Information Management Systems 2006 Gala Dinner on Thursday, June 8 2006. ENTEREST is nominated in the following category: “Most Innovative Billing Product (Software Vendor or Hardware Manufacturer) Innovation and functionality in both product offering and approach to market”.
ENTEREST’s core product is the flexible CDR-Management tool “EDR Workbench”. It addresses one of the major challenges of the telecommunication industry: managing and processing CDRs (Call Detail Records). Everyday, service providers and telco carriers have to deal with millions of CDRs in various formats which have to be converted into a readable form for further processing. With EDR Workbench, ENTEREST offers a solution to manage CDRs over the whole billing process: mediation, rating and billing. The strength of EDR Workbench is the flexibility in configuring any type of CDR-format and processing logic.
EDR Workbench is a client-server application with multiple domains across multiple tiers. The main components of EDR Workbench are factories, sections, bots and CDRs. It provides a wide range of possibilities to manipulate CDRs: from pure interactive analysis to fully automated processing. Viewing CDRs, modifying data, correcting fields, browsing files, editing values, analyzing content, validating CDR processing, comparing CDRs with other CDRs, converting formats, verifying consistency, transforming structure, checking completeness, storing data, simulating formats and generating any kind of test-CDRs.
One of the most striking features of EDR Workbench is the integrated TAP 3 editor. EDR Workbench not only deals with any TAP or RAP format by configuration (incl. TAP 3.11 and RAP 1.3), it can also reflect the necessary processing steps for completely automating the roaming CDR-logic. The flexibility of EDR Workbench ensures that it adapts to any existing in-house-chain, thus enhancing it to serve the carrier’s roaming requirements instead of replacing existing investments.
The flexibility in manipulating any given CDR format is provided through ENTEREST’s own openBSL® (open Bot Scripting Language) – a modern, object-oriented language to analyze and manipulate CDRs. openBSL® is fully integrated into EDR Workbench and optimized for CDR-processing tasks. It grants access to complete CDR-structures and content. Special methods enable the access to any CDR-field, to create CDRs and batches on-the-fly, duplicate or dump records, analyze and modify content automatically.
EDR Workbench enables operators to dramatically increase the quality of their processing while providing a wide range of CDR-handling possibilities at the same time. This enables carriers to focus on their core business and allows system integrators to explore new business opportunities.
