Greenpicks – Eco & Upcycling Market looks back on a successful business year
Cologne, January 24, 2018 – The online marketplace for upcycling and sustainable products records the fifth year of growth in a row. Greenpicks – Eco & Upcycling Market focuses on sustainability with the greatest possible customer proximity. Conscious consumers are at the center of attention, as are the shop owners represented on the platform. "Especially in the digitalized world, personal contact via the various communication channels and high-quality information are very important to us," says owner Annette Husmann. Thus, in addition to product descriptions and sustainability criteria, the information content and the transparency of ecological and sustainable articles can be optimized. This approach is reflected in ever increasing requests, consulting services and orders. Thanks to the bilingual online marketplace, this works across Germany's borders; from Finland to Italy to South Africa and the USA."I am proud that we were able to establish Greenpicks on our own – ie without investors or sponsors and without a corresponding marketing budget – in the green segment permanently. Although you need more time and a lot of endurance. But instead of achieving a quick and short-term success, this strategy has enabled us to successfully build a small, solid and independent company. And without being subjected to the conventional compulsion to grow, "says the founder of Greenpicks.
The Cologne startup company wants to emancipate itself from classic growth models. Focusing on sustainability and sufficiency, Greenpicks sees itself as a pioneer of change. Founded in 2012 with the vision of promoting sustainable consumption, Greenpicks is now increasingly aiming to promote sufficiency. This longer-term transformational process was initiated in 2017 with the increased focus of the offered range on the enabling of sufficient lifestyles, for example in the area of waste and plastic avoidance. "Topics such as upcycling, zero-waste or low-waste and plastic-free living are already part of the program today. We will expand this with further topics and thus achieve a clearly identifiable orientation of Greenpicks' offer on sufficient lifestyles ", says Husmann. The aim of Greenpicks is to create awareness that a lifestyle of less ultimately leads to a higher quality of life. This is good for the individual, saves the resources and thus the environment – a win-win situation.
Greenpicks - Eco & Upcycling Market is an international oriented, bilingual online marketplace for upcycling products, green, ecological and sustainable goods. Upcycling, design and sustainability are bundled on one platform. The online marketplace was founded in 2012 under the name of "Eco- and Upcycling Market", with the aim to encourage ecological, ethical and socially responsible consumption. Consumers can choose from a wide range of products – both in German and English. Each single provider has its own online shop on the platform. For more information: www.greenpicks.de/en
