The First iPhoneDev Camp Ukraine Sets High Standards, Attracting 350+ Participants

KYIV, Ukraine – August 4, 2009 – The first iPhoneDevCamp Ukraine that took place on the 18th of July in Kyiv, Ukraine set high standards of professionalism for the future events of such level in the Ukrainian iPhone Community.

More than 350 IT specialists connected to the development for the iPhone platform were given the chance to learn from the leading Ukrainian and international experts in the field and to network amongst the peers. In the format of lectures, workshops and coffee breaks of an informal miniBarCamp, the keynote speakers covered various topics on iPhone development such as iPhone SDK frameworks, principles of development using accelerometer, unit tests, common mistakes in development, importance of Human Interface Guidelines from Apple, etc.

The event was initiated by Ciklum, a Danish IT outsourcing company based in Ukraine, in line with the company’s strategy to develop expertise in Ukraine in the “Hot” Technologies of today and make Ukraine a popular software development country in the World. Ciklum took full sponsorship and co-organized the event with the iPhone Developers Community in Ukraine and Stanfy company.

The iPhoneDevCamp Ukraine was not unique in the World on this date. The 18th of July also witnessed the iPhone Camp Atlanta, the event of exactly the same topic and format that took place in Atlanta, USA. In order to unite further the Ukrainian iPhone community with the Global Movement, Ciklum has already thought of having both camps organized on the same day next year and to establish a conference bridge between the participants.
