Cellexus launches 50 litre single-use, disposable bioreactor system

Cellexus Ltd, is delighted to announce the availability of the 50 litre CellMaker Regular™, a single use, disposable bioreactor system for the expression of oxygen-hungry protein pichia, E. Coli and algae. Designed to deliver higher optical densities (ODs) and improved yields of soluble protein over flask grown cultures, the introduction of the 50 litre format follows the successful launch of the CellMaker Regular 8 litre system in October 2008.

The CellMaker Regular series of products use CellexusBags™ which are unique, single-use, disposable cell culture bags allowing fast set-up times and eliminating lengthy cleaning protocols. Whereas other disposable systems require shakers, rockers, rollers or large environmental chambers, the CellMaker Regular range of products employ proprietary airlift technology to efficiently mix, aerate and maintain cell suspension. The systems are simple, scalable and inexpensive to use. The CellMaker Regular Controller units enable precise management of temperature (15 to 45⁰C), bag-pressure and flow of air and oxygen into the cell culture. Accurate control of these parameters enables optimisation of culture growth and improved expression levels of soluble protein.
