Reldata Wins Storage Interconnect Award
Parsippany, 8 May 2006 - Reldata, provider of a new generation of unified IP SAN/NAS storage gateways, is proud to announce that it has been honoured with the prestigious Storage Interconnect Product Award at the recent Network Storage Conference (NSC). A jury of six judges including storage experts from InfoWorld, Sun Microsystems, Masabi Group, Coughlin Associates, and Peripheral Concepts, recognized the innovativeness and value of Reldata’s unique IP Storage Gateway.

The unified Reldata IP Storage Gateway 9200, removes the need for separate NAS and SAN systems on an IP level. At the back-end the Gateway provides vendor-agnostic connectivity to Fibre Channel, SCSI, iSCSI disk array and tape storage. As first unified IP storage gateway in the market the Reldata 9200 uses a comprehensive logical volume manager (LVM) to consolidate the connected physical storage volumes in one single virtualized storage volume pool. The LVM enables the arbitrary, dynamic scalable provision of high performance, virtualized file system volumes (NFS or CIFS) and iSCSI SAN target volumes to provide storage capacity anywhere across a company’s existing IP/Ethernet infrastructure. In addition the LVM volume pool supports a unique near continuous protection of virtualized storage volumes including whole file systems and iSCSI targets, using a unique incremental volume snapshot technology. This allows a stable, automated ongoing remote backup of productive data without affecting the running production system. Reldata 9200 Gateways are sold via certified channel partners with a single prize of EUR 22,500 for a full function unit and an enterprise-class hardware configuration, without additional licenses for end users or capacity usage.
