R+W Safety coupling Series ST

R+W Safety coupling Series ST

The use of ST series safety couplings substantially reduces downtime in the aftermath of a machine crash, thereby increasing the availability and production performance of the equipment.

Designed for use in shredders, crushers, rolling mills, steel mills, conveyor equipment and extruders, the compact, simple, yet robust design of the coupling makes maintenance-free operation possible throughout its entire service life. In comparison to other couplings currently available on the market, an ST coupling possesses as little as 25% of the mass.

The fact that disengagement torque can be very easily adjusted is another advantage. This can be changed simply, without any aids (such as a datasheet for example), by virtue of the force range, marked on the individual actuation segments.

This safety coupling can reliably limit torque up to values of 160 000 Nm, with an available shaft diameter range of 40 - 290 mm.

The ST1 series was developed for inline mounting to cardan shafts, as well as for indirect drives with consideration for belt or chain tension on the shaft. Model ST2 (vibration-damping version) and ST3 (torsion resistant version) are available for direct drive applications and involve integral flexible shaft couplings.

R+W offers state of the art Shaft Couplings according to your requirements:
Torque Limiters, Bellows Couplings, Miniature Couplings, Elastomer Couplings,
Servo Couplings, Linear Couplings and Line Shafts.
All couplings are torsion proof and backlash-free.

R+W couplings fulfil the highest requirements and they are wear- and maintenance-free.
The R+W headquarter is in Klingenberg, Germany with three branches in the USA, Italy and China.
R+W is represented in more than 45 countries worldwide.

Maximum power density, minimum dimensions
This new torsion-proof coupling from R+W beats the ravages of time. Now that the compact BKC model series has established itself on the market (launched in 2005), a shorter BKM model series will once again be available to users in 2009. The compactness of this model in comparison to the BKC is clearly evident (not as long). This has been made possible by the 2-corrugation inside the metal bellows. The coupling’s
