RAIDIX and Primus IT Ship Data Storage System to Parishkar College (Rajasthan, India)

Press release from: RAIDIX

Data storage vendor RAIDIX and Indian system integrator Primus IT have delivered a data storage system for Parishkar College of Global Excellence (PCGE) in Jaipur (Rajasthan, India). The college employs storage for servicing its in-house IT infrastructure and providing high-speed access to shared hot data and archive information.

Parishkar College of Global Excellence holds “A” grade from NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council— UGC, Govt. of India). Established in 2006, the college now hosts over 4,000 students from the 33 districts of Rajasthan and 8 other states. PCGE offers bachelor and magister programs in English, History, Political Science, Geography, Hindi, Economics, and more disciplines.

Within the institution’s infrastructure, RAIDIX enables high fault-tolerance and top calculation speeds due to patented RAID 6 and 7.3 levels. The latter ensures data integrity and unimpaired performance even in case three drives in a RAID-group fail.

RAIDIX uses the SparePool functionality for hot spare, allowing the system to secure data in the array by creating one or multiple pools of reserve disks. The software behind the storage system also encompasses protection against silent data corruption and partial reconstruction (targeting a disk sector with corrupted data instead of rebuilding the entire disk content).

The RAIDIX software utilizes smart algorithms and artificial intelligence tools to automatically balance and prioritize workloads by application. Other major functional capabilities include full support for commodity hardware as well as SAN and NAS protocols, and elastic system scalability on-the-fly by adding new storage nodes.

The India market reveals high demand for hardware-agnostic solutions that deliver greater flexibility in terms of system management, scale-up and scale-out, and decreased TCO compared to industrial storage systems. Leveraging the software-defined technology, patented RAID algorithms and COTS equipment, RAIDIX-powered systems benefit mid-size and large-scale enterprises and governmental agencies across India.

Aside from the enterprise segment, RAIDIX-based appliances are actively employed by Bollywood film companies and postproduction studios. In February 2017, RAIDIX and the Indian partner Primus IT co-exhibited at the Convergence India conference and presented the high-performance RAIDIX solution catering to 2K/4K/8K multi-stream workloads.

Focused on the values behind $/GB and $/IOPS, RAIDIX and Primus IT offer system integrators and end customers in South Asia a market-tested formula of software-defined storage that factors in peak performance, high density, universal connectivity and full data integrity.

RAIDIX (www.raidix.com) is a leading solution provider and developer of high-performance data storage systems. The company’s strategic value builds on patented erasure coding methods and innovative technology designed by the in-house research laboratory. The RAIDIX Global Partner Network encompasses system integrators, storage vendors and IT solution providers offering RAIDIX-powered products for professional and enterprise use. RAIDIX delivers storage solutions to High-Performance Computing (HPC), Media & Entertainment, Video Surveillance, Enterprise and other data-rich industries.
