Press release from: Process Relations GmbH

Dortmund, Germany - 2nd June 2009 – Process Relations has today launched the latest version of XperiDesk, its Process Development Execution System (PDES). XperiDesk 2009.1 delivers new functionality designed to improve the system’s ease of use for process development engineers. The updated, patent pending search and report function, new native graphical assessment and visualisation tools and more versatile import/export functions make it far easier for any engineer on a development team to benefit from XperiDesk’s data collection, analysis and simulation tools, without the need for extensive training or experience.

Combining these additional tools with the core capabilities of the XperiDesk system, XperiDesk 2009.1 ensures that engineers have even more time to focus on tackling the technical challenges involved with process development rather than data collection and management. “It is increasingly important to reduce the cost of development, especially for knowledge intensive high-tech businesses, such as the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries,” commented Dr. Dirk Ortloff, Co-Founder and CTO of Process Relations. “With XperiDesk 2009.1’s improved usability, Process Relations continues to help organisations leverage their existing knowledge, optimise their R&D workflow and develop their manufacturing processes to achieve profitability faster and at a lower cost.”

XperiDesk 2009.1 incorporates three key new features. Firstly, the new system incorporates a far more flexible and user friendly search and report capability. The new, more versatile search criteria, enables any engineer, even those with minimal experience of the system, to easily generate search queries to deal with complex data searches. The updated system also now includes a native graphic assessment and visualisation functionality. Conveniently built into the XperiDesk package, graphical analysis is now one button click away, removing the need to export data to external tools. XperiDesk 2009.1 also has a more user friendly import/export function. Users can now export any data set or line item with its full history, and as XperiDesk records every change in its database, engineers can be very specific in what is to be exported. By employing an open data format this information can be exported into any other system and easily imported back into XperiDesk. XperiDesk 2009.1 is the first software tool with this function. In addition, the updated software includes a printing support function enabling engineers to print experimental results with a single button click in pdf format.

XperiDesk, originally launched in 2008, is a comprehensive software suite designed to support the development of new high-tech manufacturing processes from the initial conceptual stages through to final production. Through its cutting edge tools and its approach to non-technical challenges, XperiDesk can also speed the overall development and reduce the costs of developing new processes.

Founded in 2007, Process Relations is a software company based in Dortmund, Germany. Its first to market XperiDesk product is a comprehensive solution for the efficient management of high-tech process development. It provides process developers with the ability to very effectively utilise all previously accumulated information and knowledge as well as all existing test and production data to make every aspect of process development faster and more cost effective.
