Canada’s Director of Land Command Information explores rapid

SMi Group has recently announced that Colonel Mark Parsons, G6 / Director Land Command Information, Canadian Armed Forces, will be speaking at the Network Centric Warfare 2018 conference in Rome next February.

Speaking on Day 2 of the event, Colonel Parsons will present an exclusive session entitled 'Maximising Canadian Emergency Response Capability Through Utilisation of Network Enabled Technologies'. His presentation will provide an overview of how robustly networked forces can respond with more versatility to emerging threats and crises. Concurrently he will also explore:
• How net-centric communications enable rapid concentration of military forces within combat environments
• Improving command and control (C2) through real time data and communication connections between ground forces and command centres
• Future ambitions for further net-centric connectivity within the Canadian Armed Forces

Additionally, Colonel Parsons will highlight recent successes of Exercise Operation Staged Response 2017, a training opportunity that confirms 5th Canadian Division commanders and staff are ready to plan and implement operations in response to potential emergency situations affecting Canadian citizens.

NETWORK CENTRIC WARFARE 2018 will also provide delegates with updates from Italian Armed Forces and their Forza NEC programme, UK Ministry of Defence and the BATCIS programme, US Army Europe, Royal Netherlands Air Force, DSTL, delegations from NATO, Leonardo, Rajant Corporation, and more.
