Art project Mybadbank opened in Berlin

Mybadbank (MBB) is a temporary art project from Berlin.
MBB is a fictional bank that consists of several happenings. The project centers around a fake bank used as a ironic statement towards the absurdity crisis financial crisis. As a "bank" MBB offers its customers to get rid of their unwanted debts, deadly mortgages and other installment contracts, analogue to how the big shots act, but discreet and without a big ballyhoo.
In cooperation with the Kooper/David agency which organises the remaking of the former public pool in the Wedding district, the first Berlin branch was opened on June 13th. The exibition lasts until 11th of July and there will be serveral special events.
Visitors can actually enter the bank branch, like every other normal bank.
There is a operating banking-terminal waiting for you to take on all your unwanted debts. The visitors can transfer their own debts to MBB virtually and get a "Personal MBB Bailout Certificate" in return. More branches in London and New York are in the making. On the MBB website besides the MBB Online Bailout, people can find information that visualize the twisted ways their depts are taking to be then transferred into assets in the end.

Mybadbank was initiated by artist David Johannson and music manager Beate Geibel. Geibel has been working in the music industry for many years and is now a manager for some european bands since 2006.
Johannson was a creative director in webdesign, film production and branding for over 10 years. Since 2007 he works as an artist in Berlin. Mybadbank is a non-commercial project with no funding and sponsoring. A Facebook group with over a hundred members from Europe and USA is supporting MBB.
