dtmGENERATOR - from EDD to DTM

The process automation industry employs two major technologies for the integration of field devices: Electronic Device Description (EDD), which uses device description files based on human readable clear text formats, and FDT-Technology, which utilizes so called Device Type Managers (DTMs) as a software-driver-based solution. Depending on the given plant scenario and the respective control system, a facility will make use of one of these technologies or a combination of both.

The deployment of both technologies often implies the need for device manufacturers to support both standards, which in turn causes development costs and resources to double. With dtmGENERATOR M&M Software offers a cost efficient software solution, which allows for an automated process of generating DTMs from EDD files.
