Animals' Souls bared on Internet

The first official website of wildlife artist Gary Hodges (garyhodges-wildlife-art.com) has been launched amidst enormous acclaim from collectors and celebrities. Gary Hodges’ appeal has been built on his extraordinary ability to capture, what many would say, the “soul” of the wild animals he draws.

The 58 page website provides insight and background to the highly successful artist’s 120 published limited edition prints and pencil drawings. In the first month trial period the website received over 20,000 page hits from 50 countries.

“I’m happily surprised by the reactions” says Hodges. “After years of aversion to the internet, I am now a complete convert. It has given me a new exciting platform to communicate with my supporters and collectors.”

Gary Hodges is passionate about animals and is an avid supporter of wildlife conservation. Since he started professionally twenty years ago he has donated over half a million pounds to charity. He has supported over 40 charities, with his two favourites being the Born Free Foundation and the Environmental Investigation Agency. Virginia McKenna, co-founder and trustee of the Born Free Foundation says “The living spirit of the animals shines through their eyes and the beauty of their physical presence leaps from the paper. Gary is an artist who understands.”

The artist has many celebrity collectors including Martina Navratilova, Jenny Seagrove, Kiki Dee, Rula Lenska and Michaela Strachan. Commenting on his work Jenny Seagrove says “There’s something that goes straight to some very deep part of your soul, straight from the pictures … If ever art was poetry, this is poetry.”
