Trend Micro Extends Agreement with Microsoft Corp. to Provide Antivirus Scanning for MSN Hotmail Customers

For third consecutive year, emails and attachments sent or received by web mail customers will be scanned in real time by Trend Micro antivirus software

London, UK — April 10, 2006 — Trend Micro Incorporated (TSE: 4704, NASDAQ: TMIC), a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, today announced that its 2004 agreement with MSN has been extended, and Trend Micro will continue providing real-time antivirus scanning and cleaning protection for approximately 230 million Hotmail email accounts.

Through the agreement, Trend Micro provides users of MSN Hotmail with award-winning scanning and detection services that offer automatic protection any time they send and receive email attachments, ensuring a safer Internet experience. Trend Micro’s antivirus technology and services will help protect email messages and attachments in MSN Hotmail by scanning in real-time for viruses, Trojans, worms, and other malicious threats.
