In 2015, the value of metal product production in the U.S. amounted to $6.6B, moving up by +4.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. metal product output pursued a prominent decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -2.8%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +8% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of metal product shipments in the United States attained its maximum level of $8.1B in 2008. Afterwards, the growth in terms of the metal product production failed to regain its strength through to 2015.

Ornamental and architectural metal work accounted for the highest share (37% in 2015) of U.S. metal product manufacturing, leaving a considerable room for other architectural and ornamental work (22%).
