Chiropractor, Dr. Craig S. Rubenstein invited as expert panelist at the 3rd Annual Neurospine Summit

This one of a kind conference was hosted by Mather Hospital’s Back and Neck Pain Center, a leader in integrated and interdisciplinary spine care at the Three Village Inn, Stony Brook, NY,

This inter-disciplinary summit was attended by practitioners in multiple fields including neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic spine surgeons, chiropractors, rheumatologists, pain management specialists, primary care and internal medicine physicians, physical therapists and Emergency Department physicians and nurses.

Dr. Rubenstein, who has obtained certification as a Primary Spine Care Practitioner, is affiliated with Mather Hospital‘s Chiropractic Collaboration Program since it’s inception.

“A breakthrough, is the only way I can explain both the Neurospine Summit and Mather Hospital’s Back and Neck Pain Center’s integrated approach to spinal care. It is the first of its kind anywhere in the area“, exclaims Dr. Rubenstein.

“Where else, for the past three years could you find Chiropractor’s sitting amongst their medical colleagues in a collaborative fashion, looking only to enhance patient outcomes.”

This event gives Chiropractor’s and their medical counterparts a setting to present and discuss each professions expertise in dealing with spinal care and a forum to create an understanding of how to integrate each professions techniques.

The Neurospine Summit was moderated by chiropractor, David J. BenEliyahu and neurosurgeon Sumeer Sathi.

The format for this year’s summit was by case reports. Dr. Rubenstein explains that there were eight different lectures ranging in topics from cutting edge minimally invasive spinal implant procedures and classic lumbar spine surgeries to the multiple techniques offered by the chiropractic profession for spinal pain syndromes as well as the role of interventional radiologists, oncologists and endocrinologists.

Dr. Rubenstein‘s role as an expert panelist along with other practitioners on the panel were to review and respond to the cases presented and discuss potential treatment options.

Dr. Rubenstein maintains two chiropractic care clinics, one in New York City and the other in Medford, Long Island.

Along with being a primary spine care practitioner, Dr. Rubenstein is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition. Dr. Rubenstein is also eligible to sit for his diplomate exams in both Applied Kinesiology and Chiropractic Neurology. Due to Dr. Rubenstein‘s training, he treats patients with a multi faceted approach that blends chiropractic, functional neurology, clinical nutrition and applied kinesiology.

Dr. Rubenstein‘s integrated approach allows him to treat patients with conditions ranging from spinal pain syndromes, ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder problems to migraines, vertigo and concussions.
