Wagento launches Ruland Manufacturing eCommerce Store on Magento 2

Wagento is delighted to announce the launch of a recently designed and developed eCommerce store for Ruland Manufacturing on the Magento 2 platform. Ruland focuses on the design and manufacturing of high performing shaft collars and couplings.

The newly developed eCommerce store is built on the new Magento 2 platform. Also, Wagento has migrated the website from internal eCommerce solution to Magento 2 with 62,000 SKUs. Client Requirements and Challenges
Ruland came to Wagento two years ago wanting a totally new site build. They were utilizing their own internal eCommerce solution and need to move their store with Magento 2, which fit their overall businesses needs. Ruland’s goal was to migrate their current existing site to Magento 2 and redesign their site with modern look and feel. Around then Magento 2 was a brand new platform. One of the challenges Wagento faced was overcoming Magento 2 flaws and bugs at the time. Ruland’s entire product catalog was well over 62,000 SKUS. This was an awesome test for Wagento to move their website to Magento 2 stage platform as a Magento 2’s product import tool was not functional at that time.

What Wagento Did
Wagento built a new customized theme based Magento eCommerce store which represents their brand. In addition to these design components, many other aspects of the site have been highly customized, particularly. Wagento key aim of this tasks was to accomplish a seamless integration of the product, product families, and brand into the shopping experience without the need for navigating to different areas within the site. The new platform included several integrations with third parties such as Spins 360, customized CAD Downloads and production instructions.

Download CAD
As a feature on every product page, a shopper has the option of being able to download the parts CAD files in several different formats right from the product page.

Customized 360 Spins
Ruland has purchased the Spins 360 module but the module wasn’t quite compatible with how they wanted it to look and behave on the storefront. So Wagento customized it to display videos and instead of uploading 72 images per products they made it so similar or identical parts used the same images, saving the client tons of memory space on the server.

Dynamic Table View
This was another feature Wagento has a custom built for the Ruland to display their products in a customizable way for the shopper. Allows the shopper to compare other parts and chose which part works best for their business.

Impact and Results
Ruland was extremely content with the launch of their new site, there were no issues and the launch was smooth. Within the first week of the launch, they received huge traffic and orders. Both Ruland and their customers are very happy with the resulting website.
