earthTV picks up the Latin beat

earthTV, part of the Telcast Media Group, is pleased to announce a new camera in Rio de Janeiro – its first camera location in South America as it continues to build its global network.

Full of teeming life Tavares Bastos is known as the safe Favela [shanty town] in Rio de Janeiro and the view from the now legendary Maze Inn is one of the finest in Brazil – and that is where earthTV’s first camera in South America is situated. From here one can watch central Rio stretching out below before lifting your eyes across the beautiful Guanabara Bay to see the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain. The location is also temporary home to filmmakers and celebrities from around the world and there could be no more fitting venue for earthTV to capture the heartbeat of the city of samba rhythms, golden sands and carnival.
