Orthodontics – (teeth straightening)
Hallcross Dental offers several options for teeth straightening. These include Invisalign, Clear Ceramic Braces and Lingual Braces, which are placed discreetly behind the teeth.
For many years, teeth straightening was seen as something only carried out on teenagers and often the traditional ‘train track’ style braces spring to mind. With the latest dental technological advances, there are many forms of teeth straightening now available on the market and the adult teeth straightening market is vastly growing.
Invisalign uses a series of transparent aligners, which are moulded to the shape of your teeth so that they fit exactly and are very comfortable to wear. They are clear, so are barely visible to the naked eye. The aligners can also be removed for brushing and flossing and for eating purposes, which makes them convenient. They should be worn at all other times though, at least 21 hours per day. Every two weeks the aligners are changed to move your teeth into the desired position gradually.
Dental Implants
Losing teeth can be a scary business and can really knock your confidence. Again, dental technology has come a long way, and now dental implants are on offer as a really good long-term solution for missing teeth. The dental implants act as a tooth’s root would. They are made from titanium and are screwed into the jawbone. They are then left to heal and fuse with the jawbone. This fusion creates a very strong foundation for a replacement, tooth, crown or denture to be applied. The dental implant is very strong and acts as a natural tooth root would. There is little movement, and you can treat it as you would your natural tooth.
