INTERACTIVE “HONOR OUR VETERANS” EVENT TO DEBUT IN STAFFORD, TX

First Annual Celebration Will Feature Col. Ignatius Dolata, US Army, Ret

On Veteran’s Day, Saturday November 11, 2017, Fort Bend County and the Houston area are invited to pay homage to our nation’s veterans at the “Honor Our Veterans” event. The event will take place in Stafford, TX at the brand-new, state-of-the-art Texas Gun Club shooting sports center. This event will bring to the Houston area a brand-new way to celebrate and honor our veterans. It will feature a unique combination of compelling talks from veterans blended with an opportunity for the general public to get hands-on and truly experience what it is like to defend our country.

The event will kick-off at 9:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2017 with a ceremony featuring local elected officials and special Veteran’s Day remarks by Colonel Ignatius “Mike” Dolata, US Army, Retired. Colonel Dolata has a master’s degree from the US Army War College and served as Battalion Commander, 716 MP Battalion “Peacekeepers” in the US Army. Colonel Dolata will share his unique perspective on the significance of Veteran’s Day and the role that the military police play in securing our country and serving our military.

Following the ceremony, Fort Bend Central Chamber of Commerce will preside over a ribbon cutting ceremony for Texas Gun Club which is celebrating its grand opening. Texas Gun Club features 20 indoor shooting lanes including the only indoor 50 yard lanes in Southeast Texas, 3,000 square feet of retail space, three fully-equipped training and event rooms, a firearms simulator and gaming center, a café and snack shop and a members’ lounge.

Throughout the day, all are invited to partake in a true military experience and be instructed by some of our local veterans in the usage of automatic and semi-automatic firearms. Veterans and instructors will teach firearm safety and allow individuals to shoot several weapons, all while relaying experiences and examples of how these weapons are used across the globe to defend the United States of America. It’s a unique approach to convey the challenges faced by our military veterans in an effort to impart a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made daily by those who choose to honor and serve our nation.

Activities throughout the “Honor our Veterans” event will include a fully automatic shooting experience, multiple raffles for firearms and other prizes, a Texas Hold’Em shooting competition, several manufactures showcasing their newest products, bounce houses and a mechanical bull, food trucks, and much more.

Texas Gun Club is an amazing new shooting sports experience in the Southwest Houston area. Located in Stafford, Texas, the 23,000 sq. ft. facility features 20 state-of-the-art indoor shooting lanes, 3000 sq. ft. of retail space, three fully-equipped training rooms, a firearms simulator and gaming center, a snack shop and a member lounge.
