Old style animations have been upgraded by Flash Lite animations which offer a much higher frame rate and a smaller file size than normal animations in GIF format. The normal static background wallpaper has been upgraded by Flash Lite timebased wallpapers which are changing three times a day and presenting each time a different background wallpaper. The latest innovations are Shaking wallpaper which are using the motion sensor or accelerator in mobile phones to make personalisation richer and easier.

Widgets are web based services which are offering a suite of different little ‘helpers’ such as news, real-time stock prices, maps all through a rich user interface.
