SAUDI HEALTHCARE SECTOR MOVING TOWARDS VISION 2030 PLAN

As part of the Saudi Vision 2030, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has unveiled a comprehensive plan for reform of its entire economic structure. The main goals are to develop other industries and sectors to ensure that the economy is no longer as dependent on oil as a source of income while decreasing public spending with a greater participation from the private sector.
A rapidly growing population and increasing instances of lifestyle-related illnesses have opened up a huge market for healthcare, making it one of the main focus areas of Vision 2030. Needless to say, this is bound to have a dramatic effect on healthcare demands.

So, given that in ten years, AI and robotics will be cheaper, better, acceptable to the public and more accessible than current health provision, should we be investing in hospitals and doctors, or in these new technologies?" asks Dr Tim Wilson, Partner and Healthcare Services Leader at PwC, and also one of the key speakers at the Summit.
As investors and operators in the healthcare sector make challenging decisions due to trends and industry changes, and the market in Saudi Arabia continues to grow exponentially. The state, which currently provides nearly 80% of health care, is now trying to encourage private investment in the sector.
Considering the special potential of growing demand and rising investments in the private healthcare sector, The Saudi Healthcare Privatization Summit aims to encourage participation from the private sector by bringing together buyers and suppliers in order to decrease demand-supply gap in the KSA. The summit will be held at The Riyadh Marriott, Riyadh on the 27th and the 28th of November, 2017.
