BONN, GERMANY, April 16, 2009 | defence.professionals today celebrates the first anniversary of its defpro.com internet platform. Launched one year ago, today defpro.com set out to provide user-friendly resources for defence professionals throughout the globe to connect online and find all information relevant to defence and security. With up-to-date information, analyses, developments, trends, events, company indexes and discussion groups, defpro.com is committed to putting "the entire defence world at your fingertips"!

With this aim, defpro has revolutionised the world of defence professionals, becoming their daily website through its free membership.

During its first year, interested people from 160 countries on every continent (excluding Antarctica), with the U.S. contributing the most visitors, generated more than 12 million hits and nearly 2 million page-views. This makes defpro.com the fastest growing internet platform in the defence sector.

In fact, the last few months have seen a dramatic increase in visitors and hits at defpro.com. March marked a record month with over 3,600 unique-visitors each day. During this month, more than 2,5 million hits were generated with some 350,000 page-views. Compared to the previous month, this means an increase of over 32 per cent. And February already saw an increase of 26 per cent over January 2009.

In these twelve months, defpro has become a highly professional community made up of high-ranking industry representatives from all major companies, as well as members from procurement, military, politics, associations and journalists. With its user-friendly community tools, defpro.com is building the most advanced web-based network environment within the entire industry.

To kick off its second year, defpro.com launched the second generation of defpro.com, with a general face-lift and improved search-possibilities. Further improvements will be available later this year, featuring the largest defence industry catalogue (defpro.index) as well as groundbreaking new features.
