Entrepreneur Award Winner Secures North American Scholarship Programme

The Manchester born entrepreneur secured one of ten places on the prestigious two week programme, which has been organised by the UK Trade and Investment and The British Consulate-General in Chicago.
Designed to open up new opportunities in America for UK based small and medium sized businesses, the intense Programme starts on the 19th April 2009 and will enable Optimum Training to roll out its acclaimed business development and training courses in California.
Despite the global economic down turn, Optimum Training has continued to expand in the last twelve months with centres now in Manchester, Chester, and a new centre soon to be opened in San Diego, California.
Commenting on the scholarship, Amanda said:
“I am delighted to have been awarded a place on the programme. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the American market and decide on our best strategy for expanding Optimum in the States.”
The programme is valued at around ten thousand British Pounds and is sponsored by The Ellis Goodman Foundation and Kelloggs School of Management.
Optimum Training Limited was founded in 1994 by entrepreneur Amanda Clarke. It's client base includes a range of small and medium sized entreprises through to large corporates like McDonald's Restaurants and BurgerKing. The Company has won awards under the leadership of the founder and CEO, Amanda Clarke, includng The Daily Telegraph Small Business award 1999, Cheshire Women in Business Award 2004, and Amanda has received the Woman of the Year 2005 award from the American Biographical Institute.
Amanda is the creator of a new management development tool Accelerbrain, which provides all the tools and technologies for senior executives to perform at their best. Accelerbrain is due to be launched in the USA in the Summer 2009.
