Clarion Water Technologies Is Unveiling Future Plans for Its New Organic Reuse Centre

Located in Shanghai, that will supply electricity and green heat to the region

Clarion Water Technologies, an independently owned water and wastewater treatment specialist headquartered in Shanghai that is providing a comprehensive package of bespoke water management solutions reach that extends across China, is pleased to announce that will inaugurate a new organic reuse centre that features a methanation unit developed entirely by Clarion Water Technologies. The company offers its customers concrete solutions for the local production of green energy for the energy transition.
The start-up of this new unit in Shanghai, represents a concrete step forwards in the energy transition of the region. Thanks to this new unit, the company reuses organic waste from industry, retailers, local authorities and agriculture as new energy resources. This green energy is used locally to meet 70% of the needs of the neighbouring industrial company.
The new organic reuse centre in Shanghai will transform up to 8,000 tons of waste from the region into new energy resources per year, producing 2,000 MWh of green heat and 2,000 MWh of green electricity, which is the equivalent of the electricity consumed by 5,000 households. Each year, the Shanghai organic reuse centre also transforms 17,000 tons of organic waste (urban sludge, plant waste, digestate from the methanation process) into fertilizers and compost that meets the applicable standards.
Together with the other players in the region, Clarion Water Technologies has implemented a short reuse cycle. The fertilizers and compost are used by local farmers, and all the energy produced is reused locally, instead of fossil-fuel energies.
