Is YallaHabibi.com the next MySpace.com with an Arabic twist?

Myspace.com (MySpace) is an internet portal that serves as a hub for online communications, music, picture sharing - whatever the average wired net-o-phile whether bored at home or work, or just trying to expand on their social network by browsing through what seems to be an endless profile bank.

MySpace has inspired other portals such as FaceBook (TheFacebook / facebook.com) and now YallaHabibi.com. YallaHabibi.com has always been around, but MySpace has almost set the standard.

There are an increasing number of free service portals that surface on the net daily. People from the ages of 6 to 106, male and female, trancending all ethnic groups and borders, these portals are connecting people world wide.

Through the uses the Internet such as online communication through an interactive network of photos, weblogs, user profiles, e-mail, web forums, and groups, as well as other media formats, etc, people are finding new and creative ways of expressing themselves.

Sites like Migente (Migente.com) and YallaHabibi.com (Yalla Habibi) are forged out of this idea of a global network. What makes Yalla Habibi different, people of Middle Easter, Israeli, and Arab orgins are able to discover - even rediscover their roots and heritage through music, videos, blogs, etc. People are finding these sites as a resource for religious, cultural, and community events.

I'd be curious to see where these ethnic social networks lead. I'd be even more curious to see the growth in popularity of these ethnic sites by non-ethnic people to learn more about new cultures first hand.
