3D fairy tale on the iPhone
Berlin-based Trimaris Ltd. introduces a puppetshow version of „Rumpelstiltskin“ in 3D, which can be watched on iPhone 3G, notebooks and desktop computers. „Rumpelstiltskin“ is one of the brothers Grimm's classics and combines a fascinating story with humour, horrror and magic – the ideal material for a totally new puppetshow experience, which was produced with the puppets and dramaturgy of the puppeteer Jürgen Wicht. It was shot with a 3D-camera system. The setting in a picture stage allows for a breathtaking 3D-effect.
Trimaris uses the Wazabee 3Dee technology of Spatial View (www.spatialview.com), e.g. 3DeeShell for the iPhone or 3DeeFlector, which enable an auto-stereoscopic (i.e. glasses-free) presentation. The images for the left and right eyes are generated by removable optical elements in front of the display. As with natural view, the brain then deduces the depth information.
Trimaris co-operates with leading European post-production house Digital Images in Halle, who finish the end product from the stereo 3D post-production to the final 3D-DVD or iPhone encoding and as a partner open up new distribution channels. Digital Images, too, uses Spatial View's hardware and software for the post-production workflow.
Rumpelstiltskin is the first release in a planned sequence of exciting 3D fairy tales which Trimaris will produce over the next months.
Who doesn't remember the magic of a puppetshow, the excitement of seeing one's favourite fairy tale characters come to life and have their adventures before wondering children's eyes? Now you can take that experience back into your own home or even on your iPhone – as breathtaking as in the puppet theatre.
„Today I bake, tomorrow brew, the next I'll have the young queen's child. Ha, glad am I that no one knew that Rumpelstiltskin I am styled.“ Everybody remembers this rhyme. But what story is behind this quotation? The time has come to refresh the memories and to introduce your children to the fairy tales that have wowed their small and bigger listeners over the centuries. As a 3D film, they are more authentic and captivating than a usual film can ever be.
