MTT Vacuum Resin 8040 A New Material for Simulating Prototypes in Polypropylene

MTT Technologies Ltd, formerly MCP-Group Tooling Technologies offers a new material in polypropylene quality to fill an important gap in the range of vacuum resins. Vacuum resins are used together with the MTT Vacuum Casting Process, worldwide the most widely used system for making multiple castings from generatively produced RP models. Alongside turnkey vacuum casting systems, silicone tooling technologies and process training, MTT Technologies supplies a large selection of over 30 different thermoplastic similar vacuum resins based on polyurethane specifically for the production of industrial prototype components. The range of vacuum resins stretches from soft rubber type materials with 40 Shore

A strength through ABS quality to materials with high temperature resistance, similar to engineering plastics. The new 8040 material is 100% comparable to injection moulded, unfilled polypropylene (PP) possessing all the thermal and mechanical properties required for the industrial testing of components (see the comparative data chart) 8040 guarantees an extensive test life for bending and flexing in the pre-production phase and is particularly suited for the prototype manufacture and functional testing of living hinges. Using the MTT Vacuum Casting Process, the silicone, RTV moulds and the first prototypes can be produced within 24 hours of the required RP model being available. All models produced with generative Rapid Prototyping (RP) methods are suitable for the MTT Vacuum Casting Process.
