Press release from: Institute of Directors

non-executive director, NXD, NED

non-executive director, NXD, NED

Role of the Non-executive Director course will be running at 116 Pall Mall, London on 22nd November, 2017.

Some directors may see the formation and maintenance of their non-executive portfolio career as the peak of their professional journey – a culmination of a lifetime’s hard work that allows them to take more of an advisory role and share their learnings, rather than a hands-on position within a new company.

However, it is crucial to remember that reaching that stage doesn’t mean there’s nothing new to learn – the role of the non-executive director (NED) is complex and requires specific skills and knowledge that are ever-changing in line with the business climate and policies of the day. Regular injections of new thinking and ideas keep non-executive directors at the top of their game.

The Institute of Directors offers guidance and learning to current and aspiring non-executive directors at the training course: Role of the Non-Executive Director, 22nd November, London.

Course benefits:
•Identify the key attributes of an effective NED
•Recognise the legal and practical responsibilities of the NED
•Identify how a NED can help to create an effective board
•Appreciate how a NED can add value in and out of the boardroom
•Apply newfound knowledge and skills to effectively deal with a range of boardroom challenges in different types of organisations

The Institute of Directors (IoD) was founded in 1903 and within three years we were awarded a Royal Charter to support, represent and set standards for business leaders nationwide.
