Opticon and Capricode in cooperation: - Opticon Windows Mobile based terminals run with Capricode’s, SyncShield® Mobile Device Management solution

10th of March, 2009 – Helsinki, FINLAND - Opticon and Capricode begin cooperation in PDA device management. The Opticon’s H16 and H19 Windows Mobile PDA devices can be managed centrally and over-the-air with Capricode’s SyncShield® mobile device management solution. This means Opticon’s state of the art PDA devices together with Capricode SyncShield® device management solution enables companies to fully exploit the benefits of smartphones in their daily working life.

The SyncShield® device management tool and its centralized operations, enable significant cost savings for organizations, whilst ensuring the devices security and operability. With SyncShield®, the companies using Opticon’s PDA devices can for example, manage the device applications and settings without interrupting the actual device user.

Mobile device convergence is here today with computer-like smartphones and PDAs, which are a necessity for today´s mobile workers. The devices that include advanced applications, enhanced memory capabilities and varying connectivity possibilities (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, GPS like in Opticon H16 and H19 has) have enabled a completely new way to utilize smartphones at work. This creates a novel need for comprehensive device management, support and security. Managing tens or even thousands of devices manually is time consuming and difficult. Therefore a comprehensive device management tool like SyncShield®, which enables simultaneous, over-the-air device management, is an efficient instrument for an organisation’s IT administration.

For Opticon the cooperation with Device Management Company Capricode, is an effective way to ensure their customers get the most out of their PDA devices cost efficiently.
