M+W Zander Wins Major Contract for One of The Largest Data Centres in Singapore

Seven floors with about 20.000 square meters

Singapore/Stuttgart, March 10, 2009 - Engineering group M+W Zander has won a major contract to design and build one of the biggest data centres in Singapore. The order volume exceeds hundred million euro. Customer is Jurong Data Centre Development Pte. Ltd. ('JDD'), a subsidiary of Japan Land Limited in Singapore. The project will be ready for occupancy in November 2009.

The data centre is owned and operated as a commercial data centre by Jurong Data Centre Development Pte Ltd. The company will lease data suites and office space to future tenants. The seven floors facility will allow for more than 31 dedicated data suites with separate occupation at tier 1 to tier 4 levels. It is also possible to merge a number of suites into larger areas as required by the tenants. In addition to the data suites adjacent office accommodation will be provided for technical support staff and other commercial operations.

Overall the new data centre will have approximately 20,000 square meters of leasable data suite space - analogue to an area of three football pitches. It will incorporate secure, redundant infrastructure including power supplies, air conditioning and communications to ensure maximum availablity. Additionally the building will incorporate sustainable design principles and materials. It will be registered with the Singapore Building and Construction Authority 'CONstruction QUality ASsessment' (CONQUAS) scheme and will be Green Mark rated.
