In 2015, the value of storage battery production in the U.S. amounted to $7.9B, jumping by +12.2% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. storage battery output pursued a prominent growth from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +3.9%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when the output figure increased by +15% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of storage battery shipments reached its maximum level in 2015, and is likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

Storage batteries, lead acid type, BCI dimensional size group 8D (1.5 cu ft (.042 cu m) and smaller) was the major product category in the U.S. storage battery manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 73% in 2015. Storage batteries, lead acid type, larger than BCI dimensional size group 8D (1.5 cu ft (.042 cu m)) lagged far behing, accounting for only the 15% share.
