In 2015, the value of fluid power pump and motor production in the U.S. amounted to $3.5B, descending by -3.2% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. fluid power pump and motor output pursued a slight decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -0.4%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +29% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of fluid power pump and motor shipments in the United States attained its maximum level of $3.6B in 2013. Afterwards, the growth in terms of the fluid power pump and motor production failed to regain its strength through to 2015.

Nonaerospace-type reciprocating fluid power pumps accounted for the highest share (35% in 2015) of U.S. fluid power pump and motor manufacturing, leaving a considerable room for nonaerospace-type fluid power motors (18%).
